Forgotten Landscapes Partnership Update
4th Sept 08
As part of the Heritage Lottery
Fund’s assessment process,
representatives of the Forgotten
Landscapes Partnership met with a
delegation from the Heritage Lottery
Fund during August to see the areas
of the landscape where our proposed
activities will take place and to
discuss project detail. The day
comprised presentations and
discussions at the World Heritage
Centre, Blaenavon, followed by site
visits.
|
In general HLF seemed very supportive of our ideas, but
they did pick out one or two issues where they felt they
could not support our plans.
These included the funding of a
PhD post, providing grant aid for local businesses to
improve visitor facilities and the timing of some of our
survey work. We have now dealt with their concerns and
submitted revised projects and budgets to them. |
 |
We were advised that this is the busiest funding round
the HLF Landscape Partnership Fund has ever experienced,
with 9 Partnerships bidding for grant aid that will only
support four of them! We now await their decision which will
be announced at the end of October 08.
